Duck - Large - Young - Male - Bird - Durbin Dux
This pair of ducks were left behind, abandoned in a forclosure home. They have been named the Durbin Dux from the small town they were rescued. The white duck is a handsom pekin male and the other is a rouen commercial bred domestic female duck. According to neighbors they were Easter ducklings from spring 2009. They are healthy and are bonded. Pekin ducks cannot fly and must be protected from predators and extreme weather. Shelter must be provided during winter and shade during the summer. Rouen ducks can fly short distances, but are not migratory. ALL DUCKS MUST HAVE A WATER SOURCE YEAR ROUND. Potential adoptors must have a viable water source during the cold winter months and a frozen pond isn't sufficient. Ducks are not very bright and will not run from coyote or fox and will need to be put up at night or live in an area free of these predators.
