Please call 765-456-1788 for a test drive.
This really is a nice 1997 Pontiac Bonneville with 79962 miles. The car has averaged less then 6700 miles per year. That's pretty good considering most average drivers put 15000 miles per year on a car.
I purchased the vehicle from a dealership here in Indiana, they took it in on trade from the original owners. It even has the original factory window sticker (and all books).
Within the last 5 miles i had the car inspected by my mechanic. My mechanic has been working on cars for 15 years, working for a big new car dealership here in town, he is very good and all my vehicles go to him for the inspection and reconditioning. He has his own ASE certified shop and does anything from oil changes to rebuilding engines.
He inspected it and told me its a very solid car. He looked it over and took it for a test drive, it did not need brakes and the engine and transmission did not have any issues. The fluids all looked good but i had him replace the engine oil and filter just to be safe. The AC was not blowing cold air, he checked the AC system for leaks and told me it needed the AC compressor replaced. I gave him the OK, so he replaced the compressor and filled the system with freon and it now blows ice cold. He also checked the system for leaks when he was done replacing the compressor and there were no freon leaks anywhere.
I am including a 3 month 3000 mile engine & transmission warranty since my mechanic told me there were no issues with the vehicle.
Mechanically
I personally drive all the vehicles i sell for a few days. This one i put nearly 100 miles on and it drives great in town and on the highway. The engine does not make any abnormal noises, no ticking or knocking. It idles very smooth when in park and accelerates without any hesitation or jerking. These Pontiacs last a very long time with regular maintenance so if you continue the good maintenance, you will get alot of miles out of this one. The transmission shifts smooth with no issues, it doesn't clunk or shift in to gear hard. Highway passing gear is also great with no abnormal "jerking". There are no mechanical issues with this car at all and I wouldn't hesitate to drive the car on a long trip. If you look around on ebay or any other car site, you will see that these 3.8L V6 engines are good for along time. Alot of these have north of 140.000 miles (some have 200.000 miles) and are still in excellent condition. This one has right under 80.000 so it still has alot of life left. The 3.8L V6 engine has been around for close to 20 years. Its more then likely the best V6 engine GM has ever made. GM put this engine in Bonneville's, Impala's, Lesabre's and several other of their vehicles. They even put the same exact engine in some of their 2010 Buick's and Chevy's.
Electrical
The AC works great since the compressor was replaced, the heat works great, cruise works just like it should, power seat works, power sunroof works, all power windows work and so does the radio. There are no electrical issues with the car.
Exterior
The car was very well cared for by the previous owner and it definitely shows. The over all paint condition is in great shape with no clear coat issues or deep scratches.
But just like every vehicle that has actually been driven on the road and not parked in a garage for car shows, there are a few minor cosmetic chips and scuffs. They are very minor and hard to see unless you get approx a half a foot away from the car or right at eye level. If your walking around the car it looks great and the paint is not faded anywhere. The minor flaws are not major but its there and i have taken over 80 high resolution pictures of it so you can see. I have taken photos of all the chips and scuffs with a caption above the photo so you can see them. Again, they are very minor and if your walking around the car its very hard to see, you have to get very close (eye level) to see these. But they are there and i just want to describe the car as best as i can.
There are a few very small rock chips on the hood that has been touched up. The door moldings have some chips on thema and they have been touched up as well. There is 2 small scuffs on the rear bumper, and a light scratch on the passenger side rear door. The scratch is not very deep and is buffable, this can be buffed out with a good rubbing compund. I took a close up picture of every flaw i could see with my finger pointing towards the chip/scuff, take a look at the photo album to see all the pictures.
Interior
The interior in this car is very clean considering its nearly 13 years old. The leather seats look great and so does the carpet. The head liner is free of any stains. The driver seat has very minimal wear on it, the back seats doesnt look like they were used very much at all. I'm pretty sure that the previous owner did not have any kids in the back seats because the carpet and seats show no signs of it, I'm speaking by experience since i have 2 small kids and our rear seats look nothing like this car :) I have alot of close up pictures of the seats and carpet so you can get a good idea of the condition.
