I'm going to include a link with over 70 pictures of the car and a link to a YouTube Video of the car running, I just want to give you alot of information and hope you feel comfortable bidding on this car. Although I'm not a mechanic, i have been around a lot of cars in my life and can give you a good explanation of the vehicle.
This really is a nice 2004 Saturn L-300 with 62916 miles. The car has averaged less then 12600 miles per year. That's pretty good considering most average drivers put 15000 miles per year on a car.
I purchased the vehicle from a Saturn dealership here in Indiana, they sold it brand new back in 2004. The lady that purchased the car was the only owner of it, she traded it back in to the same Saturn dealership and bought a new car from them a couple weeks ago.
Within the last 5 miles i had the car inspected by my mechanic. My mechanic has been working on cars for 15 years, working for a big new car dealership here in town, he is very good and all my vehicles go to him for the inspection and reconditioning. He has his own ASE certified shop and does anything from oil changes to rebuilding engines.
He inspected it and told me its a very solid car. He looked it over and took it for a test drive, it did not need brakes and the engine and transmission did not have any issues. The fluids all looked good but i had him replace the engine oil and filter just to be safe. There are no mechanical issues with the car so I am including a 3 month 3000 mile engine/transmission warranty at no additional cost.
Mechanically
I personally drive all the vehicles i sell for a few days. This one i put approx 60 miles on and it drives great in town and on the highway. The engine does not make any abnormal noises, no ticking or knocking. It idles very smooth when in park and accelerates without any hesitation or jerking. These Saturn's last a very long time with regular maintenance so if you continue the good maintenance, you will get alot of miles out of this one. The transmission shifts smooth with no issues, it doesn't clunk or shift in to gear hard. Highway passing gear is also great with no abnormal "jerking". There are no mechanical issues with this car at all and I wouldn't hesitate to drive the car on a long trip. If you look around on ebay or any other car site, you will see that these 2.2L 4-cyl ecotech engines are good for along time. Alot of these have north of 150.000 miles and are still in excellent condition. This one has right under 63000 miles so it still has alot of life left. The 2.2L in the car is a well known engine in the GM line-up, they have had the engine around for several years. They put this engine in S-10 pickup's, saturn's, aleros and some of their other small size GM vehicles. They even put the same exact engine in the new 2010 Chevy Cobalt.
Electrical
The AC and heat works great, cruise works just like it should, all power windows work and so does the radio. There are no electrical issues with the car.
Exterior
The Saturn was very well cared for by the previous owner and it definitely shows. The over all paint condition is in great shape with no clear coat issues or deep scratches.
But just like every vehicle that has actually been driven on the road and not parked in a garage for car shows, there are a few minor cosmetic chips and scuffs. They are very minor and hard to see unless you get approx a half a foot away from the car or right at eye level. If your walking around the car it looks great and the paint is not faded anywhere. The minor flaws are not major but its there and i have taken over 70 high resolution pictures of it so you can see. I have taken photos of all the chips and scuffs with a caption above the photo so you can see them. Again, they are very minor and if your walking around the car its very hard to see, you have to get very close (eye level) to see these. But they are there and i just want to describe the car as best as i can.
There are a few very small rock chips on the hood that has been touched up. Also 2-3 small chips on the driver door edge, you have to open the door to see them and i have a picture of that as well. There are also a few small scuffs on the hood and trunk, these are not deep enough and could be buffed out with a good rubbing compound. The rock chips arent any bigger then the tip of a ink pen, basically you have to get really close to see them. I took a close up picture of every flaw i could see with my finger pointing towards the chip/scuff, take a look at the photo album to see all the pictures.
Interior
The interior is very clean, the seats and carpet are exceptionally clean for the age. The head liner is free of any stains. The driver seat does not have any abnormal wear on, no stains and no spots, neither does any of the other seats. I'm pretty sure that the previous owner did not have any kids in the back seats because the carpet and seats show no signs of it, I'm speaking by experience since i have 2 small kids and our rear seats look nothing like this car :) I have alot of close up pictures of the interior so you can get a good idea of the condition.
I'm very picky, maybe too picky but I tried to put myself in a buyer's position and I would like to know everything not just a few outside photos. I buy alot of cars and sometimes i wish people were more honest when it comes to describing the mechanical and cosmetic condition of their cars.
