Description

This is a rare 1955 first series GMC pickup, with the deluxe cab option, which includes the stainless trim pieces around the glass, and the trim around the door windows. This truck is sitting on a 1977 GMC pickup frame, with minor alterations to the body mounts to attach the truck to the frame. The truck is two-toned, light metallic blue, and metallic navy. The motor is a freshly rebuilt 305, rebuilt just this spring, and has been bored out over .030. We have put less than 100 miles on the rebuild, which is the main reason for selling her. I cant drive it with the wife and two little girls, not enough seats. The transmission is a turbo 350. The front brakes, master cylinder, front calipers, and brake hoses were all just replaced in the last month. Given that she is sitting on a later model truck, it does have power steering and power brakes. This truck could be a daily driver, if you so desired. The wipers are functional. The heater and defrost is functional. I have driven her down the highway at speeds over 60 mph, with no problems, whatsoever. She is solid, as we maintained the vast majority of the body stock, including the radiator mount and inner fenders, which leads to minimal rattling or noise while driving. The exhaust consists of dual headers and exhaust, with cherry bomb mufflers, making for a sweet sounding ride. Overall, she is a really sweet ride, and I hate to let her go. This truck was my graduation gift from college, after Dad and I restored her to her current beauty. I am really selling this to avoid the disappointment of going out to the barn and being reminded that I haven't given her the driving that she deserves, so we are giving her to a good home...

As for the negatives with this truck, it has a small transmission leak, and (see pic) there is a very small rust hole in the front driver side piece of the grille, by the turn signal. Luckily, it was chromed, (before I owned it), and it must have taken a good seal, as no more rust has been seen on it since that time. All cab corners have been replaced, but the body work looks good, as you can see in the pics. The under body has been undercoated, with no visible surface rust on the exterior
