Manchester Terrier - Small - Young - Male - Dog - Theo
Description
DOANTIONS TO ASSIST IN THE VETERINARY BILLS FOR THIS DOG WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.2-16-09 Well we have bad news and good news on Theo. He went to our vet and had his leg x-rayed to see if the fracture had healed and it was healed but the problem is that whoever told the shelter that his leg had been set when casted - lied! His humerous (upper bones of leg) was shattered and would have required surgical pinning to fix it and they simply casted it to splint it. I am sure the vet who casted the leg told the person that it needed an expensive surgery so they dumped the dog off at a kill shelter and told the shelter staff that the leg had been fixed. JERKS! Anyway it is too late to properly fix the leg now but he is able to move the leg and use his paw (to knock things off of the coffee table or paw at your leg for attention) and he is even usin git more everyday to walk on. Theo, being the resilient boy that he is, is learning to use his deformed leg just the way it is. We do exercises with him several times a day and he is building up muscle strength in that leg again. Our vet says he is younger than we originally though and estimates that he is only about 9 months old. He is now ready for a loving forever home. So if you are interested please contact us today!2-5-09Theo was a stray that was found with a broken leg. His cast is due to come off in late February and he will be available to go to a forever home at that time. He is crate trained and working on housetraining. He is a very friendly guy and is not a barker at all, I have yet to hear him bark and he has been here a week. He is food aggressive with other dogs. I can remove his food without any problems but if another dog comes near his food he doesn't like it at all. He gets along with the othr dogs as long as there is no food around. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email us for an adoption application.PLEASE.....DO NOT CALL US AS WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH VOLUNTEERS RIGHT NOW TO HANDLE RETURNING MESSAGES BY PHONE.
